Fall weddings are upon us as we exit the month of August and head into the month of September. Therefore I thought I would share some ideas that couples have used to tie music into the theme of their wedding.
Then again you can skip simple and easy and go for more of a "do it yourself"...original, but still fairly easy type of projects. Here's what I mean....you could make the wedding invitations look like a concert ticket stubs. For Example:
Also you can make table decorations out of albums or LPs.
Number your tables with albums or LPs. Yeah!!! |
You can also say something about the couple's reason for choosing this band's album cover for being one of the table numbers. How cute??? <3 |
Some other really cool "do it yourself" kind of ideas....that I heard that Josh Abbott and his wife did at their wedding is that you can give out guitar picks as party favors with the couple's names on them. Also instead of a plain, old guest sign-in book you can buy on old guitar and have people sign the guitar. Or if your feeling all fancy and VIP'ish you can purchase a custom guitar with the couple's faces screen-printed onto to the guitar and have people sign the guitar that way too.
Or if you're feeling very ambitious and crafty and "do it ALL yourself" here's an idea for you. I read on NPR.org about a couple that made a very unique wedding invitation. The couple wrote and recorded a song together. Then a friend of the couples' some how constructed a wedding invitation that opened up into a record player and played the song that the couple had sung and recorded together. How cool is that?
Here's a link to watch a video of how the Record Player Wedding Invitation Works: http://vimeo.com/kellianderson/paperrecordplayerThese are just a few ideas and if you have any other music themed wedding ideas...go ahead and comment below I would love to read and hear about them!!!
To all those getting married this fall...Congratulations, but why not go ahead and be ambitious and make it a music themed wedding! ;-)
