Artist of the Week:  Laura Marling

An English Folk singer-songwriter that writes exactly how she feels in that moment.  She pours her heart and soul out onto the table for all to witness.

I read in bio of hers that she writes a song all at once and will not go back and edit it.  It's very evident on her album, A Creature You Don't Know, that was released on September 12th, that she doesn't edit her songs, because sometimes it almost seems as if she's rambling on with her lyrics at times, but I believe she's painting very vivid images of detail with her poetic lyrics.  She's letting you know how she felt and what she was thinking in that very moment.  It's quite a raw and honest songwriting approach.

Her singing voice is very dusky and breathy and her English accent is fairly apparent in her singing.  Overall, Laura is a very classy young girl with a wide-open future as an extremely talented singer-songwriter.
