Song(s) of the Week:  An Ode to Indie Rock

I had a friend request some Canadian Indie Rock to put on my blog, so here is the Canadian Indie Rock that I like and I hope y’all like it too.  Ohh… yeah, if you want to make a request for any type of music or have your own band that you want me to put on my blog, I’ll post it.  I want to make this blog as interactive with all of y’all as possible, so send me your REQUESTS and/or COMMENTS.

'Ready to Start' by Arcade Fire
This is an up tempo song with great lyrics and I love it.  Arcade Fire is considered one of the hottest Canadian Indie Rock bands hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  They are a multi-instrumental band that combines for a high energy show, so Enjoy the video!!!

'Miss You Now' by Elliott Brood
Elliott Brood is not a person, but a band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  The band Elliott Brood consists of 3 members, Mark Sasso (vocals, lead guitar, banjo, ukulele, and harmonica), Casey Laforet (backing vocals, bass pedals, keys, and ukulele),  Stephen Pitkin (percussion, sampler and backing vocals).  The lead vocalist has a great raspy voice that makes this song perfect and one of my favorites by them, so Enjoy!!!

Hey, a friend of mine sent me some awesome links about Owensboro’s Indie Connection (OIC).  OIC spotlights local bands in Owensboro, Kentucky and that pass through the Owensboro area.  It has a pretty cool facebook, myspace, and some cool video’s on Youtube, so check it out.
