Forever 27

"Pain creates the art, but can sometimes break the artist."

Amy Winehouse was found dead on July 23, 2011 in her apartment in London, with the cause of death currently being treated as 'unexplained'.

Amy was gridlocked with the media for a while as they fretted and demonized over her addiction with drugs and her rehab relapses.  Even with all of the media's over-glamorization hoopla she remained strong and responded erratically and without apology in not only her behavior, but in her music.  She intrigued us all with her powerful voice and song lyrics.

Amy's biggest song hit was, "Rehab", which she wrote in response to pressure from her record label to go to 'rehab'.

Some have been commenting  on other blogs and such that the media and the onlookers that have been embracing in Amy's inner turmoil is what caused her to pay the ultimate price...Death....at 27.

Whatever you believe or fathom up to be an explanation for her cause of death....one certainty has arose from her death.  She has died at the tender age of 27 and will be forever immortalized in a club called the Forever 27 Club.

The Forever 27 Club or the 27 Club or the Curse of 27 is an elite group of influential musicians that have all passed away at the age of 27.  They are generally considered to have led a rock-n-roll lifestyle.  Typically, battling addictions to drugs and/or alcohol.

There are have been several musicians pass away at the age of 27, but there is a list of 7 famous musicians that have all joined the ranks of the 27 Club:  Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendirx, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and now...Amy Winehouse.

Call it a coincidence, a curse, a universal thing or whatever you want, but one thing is for certain...."They were all ripped from us and swept away where the wild winds wail with the only thing in their plans-- love and rock-n-roll.  And the sad truth is...you can never tell when it's your time to go."
