Roberts' Final Curtain Call

Roberts Stadium will draw its curtains and be forever closed on August 7, 2011.  As the last public event will take place at the municipal stadium located in Evansville, Indiana.

The multi-use arena has been utilized for sports, concerts and other public events for the past 55-years and is shutting down the shows and events because of the construction of a newer and bigger multi-use arena being built in downtown Evansville.

Roberts Stadium in its present form has a seating capacity of about 12,732.  In 2007, the city of Evansville hired a professional consultant to examine whether the stadium should be renovated or replaced with a new downtown arena.  Well, low and behold...in December 2008, the Evansville city council approved plans to construct a new arena.

So, the last public event is scheduled for August 7, 2011 and it's a concert.  A Kenny Chesney Concert...featuring Uncle Kracker.

The last public event was supposed to be the Bob Dylan concert on August 2, 2011.  Which I currently hold tickets, too and I am totally stoked for!!!  But somehow Kenny Chesney's Going Coastal Tour , has received the honor and privilege of being the last concert at Roberts Stadium.

I think Roberts Stadium should have closed its curtains with the legendary, Bob Dylan.  But what do I know?  I'm just an amateur blogger rambling on about something....that no one will probably read or give a second thought to.  Anyway you look at it... August 7, 2011 is Roberts' final curtain call and I have Bob Dylan tickets for August 2, 2011!!! :-) lol
