Artist of the Week:  Alabama Shakes

Keep your eyelids open with toothpicks and your earholes wax-free, so you don't miss one sound or moment of the Athens, Alabama band, Alabama Shakes.

Alabama Shakes is a rootsy, rock n' roll and soul band that is on mission to mesmerize you and put a spell on you that will make you shake, rattle and roll in ways you never thought your body could move.

Keep a  look out for this 2012 SXSW band!

On March 14th, Alabama Shakes along with  Andrew Bird, Dan Deacon and Sharon Van Etten will kick off the opening night of SXSW at Stubbs for NPR Music.  You can listen by streaming live on NPR.

If you can't be at Stubbs  in person to see Alabama Shakes, then clean out your computer speakers and prepare to lose your body and mind.
