Brantley Gilbert Signs a Nashville Record Deal
Many people have mentioned to me how much they like the country/southern rock artist, Brantley Gilbert.  Well just to keep y'all informed, Brantley Gilbert just recently signed a record deal with Valory Music Co. in Nashville.  The label is home to Reba McEntire, Jewel and Justin Moore.
For those of you who may not know who he is, Brantley Gilbert is a Jefferson, Georgia native, that is a singer/songwriter.  He has had an album on Billboard's country albums chart for 48 consecutive weeks.  He is the songwriter of Jason Aldean's "My Kinda Party" and "Dirt Road Anthem" by Colt Ford or Jason Aldean (whoever you want it to belong to).

Barry Bonds a Red Dirt music fan?

Celebrity A-lister Barry Bonds has become the newest Red Dirt music fan.  Bonds recently picked up a Wade Bowen CD and absolutely loved the music, so he contacted Bowen to say that he loved his music.  Next thing you know Bonds is on an airplane flight from California to Washington, D.C. to attend a Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott Band and Randy Rogers Band Concert.  All I can say is that it's about time a celebrity A-lister caught wind of the greatest upcoming genre that is Red Dirt music.

All About Billy Bob's Texas

Oh... how I wish the Fort Worth, Texas Stockyards were my backyard, because then I would have the world's largest honky tonk!

Billy Bob's Texas is about 3 acres inside containing 32 Max individual bar stations, Live Pro Bull Riding, a Texas size dance floor and also a platform to host the biggest stars in country music.

On Friday and Saturday night (February 18 -19, 2011), Miranda Lambert became the first artist ever to sell out back-to-back concerts at Billy Bob's Texas.  Her tickets sold out within 30 minutes and almost 6,000 people attended each show.  She was also the only female artist to perform a sold-out show there in 2010.

On Friday, February 25, 2011, Brandon Rhyder will be recording his Live at Billy Bob's Texas CD and DVD.  Show time is at 10:30pm.

On April 1, 2011, Billy Bob's will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary Gala.  Tickets will go on sale Monday, February 28, 2011, for the concert headliner, Gary Allan.  There is a big up-stir about Gary Allan being the concert headliner, because why him, a Nashville country artist, why not a Texas country artist?  I have to agree.  Don't get me wrong I think Gary Allan is a great country artist, but it's Billy Bob's Texas.  Place a major emphasis on 'Texas', so get a Texas country artist, not a Nashville country artist!

Since being built in 1910, Billy Bob's, has set numerous world records.  Here are a few I thought were the most interesting:

1) The most bottled beer sold in one night was at a Hank Williams Jr. Concert = 16,000 bottles of beer sold.

2) Merle Haggard once bought a round of drinks for the whole Club and set a world record.

3) The youngest singer ever to perform at Billy Bob's is LeAnn Rimes.

4) More than 15 Million visitors have come through Billy Bob's doors since 1981.
