Songs of the Week:  Somewhat a Small Tribute to                                                       Psychedelic Rock

1) The Rival Sons:  A bluesy, psychedelic, type of rock band that consists of four members.  Jay Buchanan (vocals), Scott Holiday (Guitars), Robin Everhart (Bass), and Miley (Drums).  Also the Rival Sons lead vocalist (Jay Buchanan) does his own solo music stuff on the side, so be sure to check that out!  The Rival Sons are an incredible band from California that have opened up for a wide range of artists from the likes of AC/DC to Kid Rock.  Here are two of my favorite songs of theirs.

2) Jimi Hendrix:  So, this is not new underground music, but this blog post is about a small tribute to psychedelic rock and if you're going to pay a tribute, pay a tribute to the classics.  Jimi Hendrix a psychedelic rock classic.

3) Jackie Greene:

An amazing underground artist hailing from Sacremento, California.  His sound and songwriting are unbelievably awesome, being centered around folk and psychedelic rock styles.  His song "The Ballad of Sleepy John" is absolute greatness!  Check out the vid. below as Jackie Greene plays guitar, harmonica, and sings his heart out.  (I chose this song for all my Kentucky people, because Jackie Greene gives a shout out to how how old Kentucky was friend of his and now he's got them Fayette County blues.  All of us UK students know them Fayette County blues a little to well, don't we? lol)
