Van Lear Rose

We all know country music legend, Loretta Lynn.  The sweet ol' country gal from Kentucky.

She released the album, Van Lear Rose, in 2004 that was produced by Jack White.

The award winning album won a Grammy for Best Country Album in 2005.

But did you know that there is actually a rose named, Loretta Lynn Van Lear Rose?

To celebrate the release of the multi-artist tribute album Coal Miner's Daughter:  A Tribute to Loretta Lynn on November 9, 2010, Sony Music Nashville presented Lynn with her very own rose.

The Loretta Lynn Van Lear Rose is an ever-blooming floribunda known for its deep, rich apricot colour. Its buds open into a cottage-style flower, and the shrub grows to about two feet tall and wide, an ideal size for most gardens and large containers. Hybridized by Brad Jalbert.

Here's to a beautiful album and rose, the Loretta Lynn Van Lear Rose.
